Leon is a film with an unusual plot, and a wonderful combination of humour and violence. The spectrum of original and past posters for the film all use the face of the main character Leon and large typography as a focal point. The visual appeal of this is striking, and it was deemed useful for the 25th anniversary identity to be reminiscent of this in order to retain recognition by fans of the film. A custom ‘Leon’ logotype, resembling the form of a gun, was sketched and vectorised and composed over the striking face of young key character, Mathilda, to compose a promotional poster for new cinema screenings.
