Alex Ganczarski is a Graphic Designer with three years industry experience and a first class degree in Graphic Communication from the University of Reading.

Currently working as an Information Designer at Applied to create wayfinding systems to help people better experience spaces worldwide. In simple terms, this translates to designing signs and maps. Clients include Google and the City of Madrid. Alex knows how to make information make sense, visually. Based in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom.

Approach

Designing visually compelling, but crucially useful and usable solutions, for both digital and print. Stripping back the problem to the understand the core needs. Forming concepts grounded in thinking, improved by testing and workshopping. Alex is detail-oriented, and driven to engage in design because of its ability to influence people’s thoughts, feelings and decision-making.

Background

Raised in the North of England, and exposed to drawing, painting, crafting, filmmaking, and other creative influences from an early age, landing on graphic design as a profession. Previous study and interest in Art and Computer Science.

Alongside studying at the University of Reading and writing a dissertation on fluidity in logo design, Alex was involved in organising and promoting design talks for students for 3 years, leading the team in the final year; insightful blog posts aimed at design students can be read on typography.network.
